The Northshore School District has a long-standing commitment to student health and wellness. Each school has a registered nurse available to provide a wide range of services. At the beginning of each year nurses collect student health information to plan for needs during the school day.

Not In My Backyard

On Nov. 7th, 2013 the PTAs from Bothell High School, Inglemoor High School and Woodinville High School jointly sponsored an informational panel discussion at the Northshore Performing Arts Center. The program "Not in My Backyard" is an example of school communities and staff coming together to promote safe and drug free schools and communities. More information can be found in the Healthy Youth Survey results (Adobe reader required) shared at the event.

Maywood Hills Elementary Honored

Maywood Hills Elementary named a 2013 Health Champion by the Washington State Public Health Association as a result of School Nurse Peggy Sturm's leadership in bringing the school community together in support of immunizations. See the video below for more of the story.

For Parents/Guardians of students in grades 6-12

Beginning July 2005, schools in Washington are required by the legislature toprovide information at the beginning of each school year on Meningococcal Disease and the HPV virus to parents/guardians of students in grades 6-12 (RCW 28A.210.080). This includes information on
  • Characteristics of the disease
  • How the disease is spread
  • Current vaccination recommendations
  • How to obtain additional information
